I dined at the Jdek in the dome and it was a very well put together experience. They provided a heater, speaker and lights for the dome. It was plenty warm and the lights around the dome at night added to the atmosphere. For the food, we got the wild boar dish, Scottish salmon, oyster appetizer and the old fashioned for 2. The food was amazing, I personally recommend the wild boar dish! We also got a complimentary dessert to celebrate our anniversary. Overall a very fun and elegant experience. In order to improve the experience I would suggest waiting to put the water carafes in the domes until the customer sits down since the water was very warm when we got there. I would also add that the price for the cocktails are a bit expensive but I do know they use quality ingredients. For the salmon, more fennel or some type of side would have been appreciated to balance out the richness of the salmon and the sauce. What an amazing dinner experience. We sat in one of the domes with great friends and although it was freezing outside, it was very comfortable inside. From start to finish our server Emma was very attentive and took great care of us. The appetizers were delicious but the seafood pot was excellent. We were treated to a surprise that went along with the seafood pot that we weren't expecting but what a treat it was. Drinks were very good. We will definitely do this again.

YUMMMM.. The food here is SO good. Unfortunately, they had a very small menu, so we were kind of forced on what we got. But that flatbread was amazing. The drinks were good as well. The service was pretty good - nothing crazy in either direction. Obviously, the prices here are high. That's expected. But we left very full, and had a lot of food to take home with us.

What a fun time, during a rather blizzard like night. We had several of the specials they had that evening. I was not as impressed as I hoped to be my their menu. However the mushrooms from their roast chicken a la grand-mere were to die for. Their specialty drink names are fun and intriguing. I had basic instinct, a coffee note drink that was that perfect balance of festive sweet liquor flavors. They provided a speaker for our music and the view combination was magical. We were entranced by the evening and the atmosphere. The downside was that I was very cold throughout the night, and was surprised to barely feel the heat coming from the heater.

I fully anticipated paying for the atmosphere but fancy food that was good but not great. Man was I pleasantly surprised. Our food was fantastic, start to finish! Fresh with great flavors! We had the oysters, beef tartar, prawns, wild boar ragu, and a cheese cake. The igloo was just a bonus. Everything was excellent and we’ll definitely be back.

TLDR: atmosphere mid September of last year (yes, late review, sorry) was perfect. We had dinner and watched the sunset. Drinks were perfect, food was great- although I wasn’t sure about the CRAB CHEESE SPRING ROLL… We started out with drinks: KENTUCKY HEARTH (apple cider, lemon, vanilla, ginger, peychaud's bitters) an N/A cocktail that I’m sure is more delicious than if you were to add alcohol And I don’t remember!! It was yummy but I don’t see anything on the menu that resembles this drink so… I’ll just say my cocktail was amazing and you should just try everything on the menu because the selections are well thought out, delicious, and beautifully presented. We ordered the CRAB CHEESE SPRING ROLL (4) (mae ploy sweet chili sauce) which had a nice flavor but there was so much cream cheese that they were super filling and slightly off putting. We only ate one each. We also ordered the charcuterie and cheese plate, knowing it’s on the inside menu even if it’s not on the deck. It was perfect in my opinion. He was more hungry than I was so he ordered the GRILLED CHICKEN CAESAR (herb grilled breast of chicken, baguette crouton, Lime caesar dressing, parmigiano) sans crouton and added grilled shrimp. The service was fantastic as always, the weather was cooperative and the views were beautiful. The music was at times a bit questionable but that’s just my personal opinion. I was happy that there was music playing and thought the volume was appropriate. Will visit again soon… when it’s not winter

Located in the heart of Grand Rapids at 235 Louis St NW, Jdek at Margaux offers a distinctive dining experience that masterfully blends ambiance with culinary finesse. Known for its innovative igloo-style domes, this venue transforms cold evenings into moments of warmth and celebration. Inside these private domes, thoughtfully equipped with heaters, speakers, and mood lighting, guests enjoy a cocooned atmosphere that invites both intimacy and festivity, creating a unique setting for any occasion.

The menu, while intentionally concise, showcases bold flavors and refined techniques. Standout dishes like the wild boar ragu and Scottish salmon reveal the kitchen’s commitment to fresh, high-quality ingredients and creative preparation. The wild boar, in particular, has garnered praise for its rich taste and tender texture, leaving a lasting impression on many patrons. From the delicate oyster appetizers to the seafood pot brimming with unexpected delights, the offerings balance earthiness with oceanic freshness. Desserts and cocktails, although premium-priced, reflect the same attention to detail, with specialty drinks like the “Basic Instinct” coffee-infused cocktail perfectly complementing savory plates.

Service here enhances the overall experience without overshadowing it. Attentive staff guide you through the evening with care, ensuring comfort and timely attention. While some guests noted minor areas for improvement—such as adjusting when waters are served to maintain temperature—the warm atmosphere inside the dome mitigates any outdoor chill, making it a cozy retreat even on harsh winter nights.

In essence, Jdek at Margaux stands out as a refined yet approachable destination for diners seeking more than just a meal—a blend of exceptional food, thoughtful ambiance, and memorable social engagement. Whether celebrating milestones or simply indulging in well-crafted dishes and thoughtful service, guests leave with a sense of having experienced something both elegant and warmly inviting.
